I'm a children's book writer. I'm writing a book about a boy with autism and his older sister. It's about how they cope with the children in school, etc. who don't understand that the boy has "special needs". I saw what you wrote about your brother, Lyle, on Mandy's page. If you had anything you could share with me (insights, stories, whatever) I would sure appreciate it.

My niece's daughter is going through testing right now, but we have been quite sure for years (since she was at least four years old) that she has "Aspergers Syndrome". She is eight years old right now and I love her desperately. I spend as much time with her as I can, because I want to make a positive difference in her life.

Her father and mother (my niece) are getting a divorce, partially because the father (married into our family) refuses to acknowledge that she (my niece's daughter) needs help, and I fear that since he will be getting placement (physical custody--his family has LOTS of money! so they fought and won) she won't get the help she needs. I'm asking the Lord to intervene in that situation and I'm trusting Him to take care of her. Our God is an awesome God!
